Police investigating violent robbery, sexual assault by 4 men at Etobicoke hotel

WATCH: A woman was violently robbed and sexually assaulted inside an Etobicoke hotel.

TORONTO – Police are looking for four men they say are connected with the violent robbery and sexual assault of a sex worker inside a hotel room in Etobicoke.

Police began investigating after they received a 911 call at approximately 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. A woman said she was robbed by a series of men who stormed her hotel room.

Toronto Police Sgt. Mike Earl said at a press conference Tuesday the woman was expecting a client and opened the door to her hotel room expecting to find one man.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

“She was expecting a client, when she opened the door, the door burst open and three other males entered the apartment,” Earl said.

The men threw her into the bathroom and hit her across the head. Two of the four men “violently” sexually assaulted her, Earl said, while the other two robbed her of her clothes and money.

Earl described the suspects as male and between the ages of 19 to 25.

The attack took place on the 12th floor of the Quality Suites Toronto Airport Hotel on Carlingview Drive near Dixon Road and Pearson International Airport.

But Earl said the violent robbery might be connected to four similar robberies in west-end Toronto. He said at least four other sex workers who had advertised on a website called Back Pages had been contacted by a phony customer and then, upon meeting him, physically assaulted and robbed by four men.
