The first happened in Coquitlam, closing a busy stretch of road for several hours.

It happened just before 10 p.m. last night on Como Lake Avenue near Robinson Street.

At least two vehicles were involved in a collision — with one of the vehicles hitting and killing a nearby pedestrian.

A hydro pole was also damaged in the crash.

RCMP officers aren’t commenting on a possible cause although weather conditions were poor at the time.

The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.

And in Richmond, RCMP officers say poor visibility was a major factor in a deadly crash along Westminster Highway.

It happened around 10 p.m. last night near Azure Boulevard.

A 75-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle as she was trying to cross the road and died at the scene.

Investigators believe bad weather and the location at which the deceased woman attempted to cross may have been factors in the crash.

The driver remained at the scene.

The road remained closed for five hours while the investigation was underway.
