KELOWNA, B.C. — The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Kelowna has been charged. Sharon Marlene Scott, 71, is in custody accused of failing to stop at an accident causing bodily harm. She is scheduled for a bail hearing Tuesday morning. It’s alleged Scott was driving a vehicle very early Sunday morning that didn’t stop after striking a woman in a downtown Kelowna alley.
Julie Gillespie, 83, died in hospital from what police say were severe and extensive injuries. Gillespie was walking home after an evening of socializing at the Royal Canadian Legion where she was a long time member.
