BOUCTOUCHE, N.B. – An incident that happened at a Bouctouche high school early Monday morning was a false alarm.
RCMP say several students at Clément-Cormier High School in Bouctouche reported seeing a person dressed in camouflage carrying what looked like a long gun in the woods near the school.
Officials were called to the scene and the high school and another nearby school were placed on lockdown.
Police searched the high school and spoke to students who reported knowing a youth matching the description of the male seen with the gun.
The teenager was holding an air gun and police say the incident was a false alarm. The lockdown was lifted just after 11 a.m.
No charges have been laid against the teen.
