REGINA – Investigators have deemed an early morning house fire Saturday that caused more than $100, 000 in damage as suspicious.
Fire crews were called to the 4000 block of 4th Avenue around 9:30 a.m after a neighbour reported smoke coming from a vacant home under renovation.
Officials said the back door of the home appeared to be kicked in and there was evidence that a fire was intentionally lit in the basement.
“The floor burnt from the basement all the way up to the living room area, so it will be extensive, extensive damage,” explained acting assistant chief Brian Seidklik.
Nobody was injured in the fire.
Anyone with information about the blaze is asked to contact authorities.
