WINNIPEG-A number of Manitoba hockey players are receiving invites for showcase hockey events in the month of November.

Team Canada for the 4 Nations Cup will feature four players from the province. Jocelyne Larocque of Ste. Anne and Halli Krzyzaniak of Neepawa will patrol Canada’s blueline. Up front, Ste. Anne’s Bailey Bram and Winnipeg’s Jenelle Kohanchuk will don the red and white.

This year’s event will be played in Kamloops, B.C., from Nov. 4 to 8. Finland, Sweden and the United States will also be taking part.

Three other Manitobans have received the call to suit up as part of the Western Hockey League’s roster for the 2014 Subway Super Series. The Calgary Hitmen’s Travis Sanheim (Elkhorn), Kelowna Rocket defenceman Madison Bowey (Winnipeg), and Brandon Wheat Kings forward Jayce Hawryluk (Roblin) were named to the roster.

Also dressing for the WHL will be Jets prospects Eric Comrie, Josh Morrissey and Nic Petan. The Wheatties’ John Quenneville (Edmonton) will also play in the two-game event.

This year, the Super Series will feature a total of six games with Russia playing the OHL, WHL and QMJHL all-stars twice each. The WHL games are scheduled for Nov. 10 in Saskatoon and Nov. 11 in Brandon.
