At approximately 9:27 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, officers responded to reports of an assault in north Edmonton, in the Griesbach area.

Witnesses reported that the teenager was allegedly assaulted by three males who left the area in a car that was parked behind the strip mall at 153 Avenue and Castle Downs Road.

The three suspects are described as Caucasian males believed to be in their 20s, having short hair, and wearing dark clothing. The car is described as a dark four-door sedan.

“The youth may have known his attackers, but because of the youth’s deteriorating condition, we have not been able to interview him regarding this assault,” said EPS Acting Sgt. Lawrence Avery.

“We have completed extensive door-to-door investigations with the neighbouring residences and businesses, and received some good witness information, but we need some additional information from the public regarding this tragic assault.”

Anyone with information regarding the incident or the suspects is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567.
