SUMMERLAND — Stealing apples from an orchard is usually not considered a serious crime, but it is when violence is involved.

Summerland RCMP are looking for two males wanted in connection with an assault that happened in an orchard Sunday.

The attack occurred at around 4:30 a.m. on Bentley Road where a resident heard noises coming from his orchard.

The man confronted the pair and was kicked and punched in the head. Police say the suspects also threatened to stab him.

The suspects fled in a turquoise four-door car — possibly a Volkswagen.

The driver of the car is described as tall, 220 pounds, with a large beer belly. He spoke with a slight french accent.

The other suspect was under six feet tall and was wearing a t-shirt with artwork on it.
