Edmonton police investigating alleged carjacking by Capilano Mall

EDMONTON — Police are investigating after a 57-year-old was allegedly carjacked outside Capilano Mall just before 5 a.m. Friday.

He was at a bank in the area of 61 Street and Terrace Road when three young Caucasian men reportedly approached him with a weapon. Police aren’t saying what the weapon was but confirm it was not a gun.

The suspects allegedly stole his vehicle and cellphone. The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

His vehicle is described as a red, 4-door 2012 Suzuki Kizashi, with dark tinted windows and an Alberta licence plate of BNN 1530.
