WINNIPEG – Another traffic ticket controversy has hit Winnipeg. This time it’s not photo radar tickets, but hand-written tickets.
Police officers filled out speeding tickets in a Kenaston Boulevard construction zone this past summer, but failed to write that the fines were doubled due to tickets being issued in a designated construction zone.

Len Eastoe, owner of Traffic Ticket Experts, has had hundreds of calls about these tickets in the last few days.
“That wording is very important when it comes to what the charge should read,” he said.
Traffic court is now questioning the legality of the tickets for not being issued properly.
“All of the city police ones that I’ve seen to this date don’t have the proper wording written on them, so that will be an issue for the courts to deal with,” said Eastoe.
