TORONTO – Apple temporarily pulled its iOS 8 update Wednesday after users began reporting issues.

“We have received reports of an issue with the iOS 8.0.1 update. We are actively investigating these reports and will provide information as quickly as we can. In the meantime we have pulled back the iOS 8.0.1 update,” Apple Canada spokesperson Tara Hendela told Global News.

According to user complaints on social media, the update disabled some users’ cell service and caused an issue with the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Those who have already downloaded the update will still be able to use it.

The update was meant to correct many bugs, including an issue that prevented some apps from accessing photos and a bug that could cause unexpected cellular data usage when receiving text messages.

Those who have not yet updated to iOS 8 are still able to do so.
