Saskatoon liquor store robberies may be connected

SASKATOON – Saskatoon Police Service is looking into two armed robberies at liquor stores that occurred early Tuesday morning.

The first incident involved a man armed with a knife at an off-sale in the 3900-block of 8th Street East around 12:15 a.m.

The suspect fled before police arrived.

A few minutes later, another off-sale in the 800-block of Central Avenue was robbed by a man also brandishing a knife. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and alcohol.

No injuries were reported.

Police are investigating the possibility that both robberies are related, based on suspect description and the sequence of events.

The suspect is described as being of aboriginal descent, in his mid to late 20s and between 5’10” and 6′. He was seen wearing a grey zip-up hoodie with navy blue stripes on the sleeves, baggy jeans and a black ball cap.
