UPDATE: Missing Abbotsford woman found dead

An Abbotsford woman who has been missing for over a week has been found dead inside her car Wednesday afternoon.

33-year-old Crystal Ratvay was reported missing from her central Abbotsford home on Tuesday.

Ratvay has not been in contact with friends or family since her disappearance, which was extremely out of character.

She left her home in a four-door green 1997 Plymouth Neon, which was found by a bystander parked off road on Sumas Mountain around 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Police officers arrived on scene and located Ratvay deceased inside. There is no indication of foul play.

On Tuesday, Crystal’s family made a tearful plea for her return.

Her brother Adam said his sister had a “bubbly” personality and was well liked, but was struggling with depression. Adam says Crystal suffered from pain and was on disability.

Ratvay was in the news three years ago after her vehicle was trashed during the Stanley Cup riot and then replaced by a generous Surrey man, who gave her a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier.
