- Environment Canada has placed Toronto under a heat alert as temperatures skyrocket across southern Ontario Friday. Temperatures are expected to reach near 40 degrees Celsius with the humidex factored in by Friday afternoon.
- A crash claimed the life of a man in his 30’s in York Region Thursday night. Three others, including a young child, were taken to hospital with injuries.
- Signal system upgrades and track work is forcing the closure of the Yonge subway line between Bloor and Lawrence stations this weekend. All trains will turn back northbound at Lawrence Station and southbound at Bloor-Yonge Station.
- Ontario schools are being taught a sex education curriculum that hasn’t changed since the age of the discman. Gender’s first mention is in Grade 12; sexual orientation isn’t in there at all.
