UPDATE: University of Saskatchewan students warned of assault

SASKATOON – An investigation is underway after an alleged sexual assault at a residence on the campus of the University of Saskatchewan.

According to protective services at the university, the alleged assault happened Wednesday morning at Graduate House at College Quarter.

It is believed the alleged suspect and victim are known to each other.

No charges have been laid to date and Saskatoon police are investigating.

Protective services is using the incident to remind people to be safe on campus:

  • use a buddy system, ensure someone knows where you are, how long you plan to be there and when you leave;
  • discuss plans in advance with a supervisor and follow any established local procedures;
  • keep doors locked when working alone;
  • on the Saskatoon campus, call Safewalk at 306-966-7233 for an escort to a vehicle or residence on campus.
