Winnipeg fire sends four to hospital

WINNIPEG – Four people were sent to hospital Monday as a precaution after a house fire near Winnipeg’s airport.

The blaze started in an upstairs bedroom at 333 Rutland St. at around 10:30 a.m., fire officials said.

A man, a woman and two children were sent to the Health Sciences Centre and Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

More than $80,000 damage was done to the house and its contents. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
