SASKATOON – A man was sent to a Saskatoon hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was struck by an alleged drunk driver late Wednesday afternoon.
Police say an eastbound SUV on 23rd Street collided with a parked car before striking the man at Avenue Q North.
The driver then continued on for about a block before hitting a curb. He fled from the SUV but was caught a short time later.
There is no word on the current condition of the victim.
The driver of the SUV, a 24-year-old Saskatoon man, is facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
His name has not been released.
Traffic in the area was restricted for several hours while police carried out their investigation.
