FREDERICTON – New Brunswick RCMP say they hope an autopsy will help determine how long human remains found Saturday east of Fredericton were there before they were discovered.
A group of people exploring a small island in Sheffield made the discovery and called police.

Corporal Chantal Farrah says foul play has not been ruled out.
She says investigators believe the remains had been there for some time.
Farrah says it’s hoped the autopsy will also help identify the remains and how the person died.
