The threat of rain has done little to dampen the spirits of Winnipeg’s Filipino community, who gathered by the thousands Saturday to celebrate their heritage.
The third annual Manitoba Filipino Street Festival started with a parade along McPhillips street this morning.
Organizers say the festival is all about showing off their culture, dance, music, cuisine and people.
Tents have been set up outside Garden City mall with live music, food and clothing.
Winnipeg’s Filipino Community is over 70,000 strong.
The festival runs until 9 pm.
