MONTREAL – Municipal workers in Quebec held protests in cities across the province to protest against the provincial government‘s proposed pension reforms.
Hundreds of city workers in Montreal participated, with firefighters setting hats alight to show their frustration with the legislation.
The mayor of Montreal, Denis Coderre acknowledged that while protesting was a fundamental right, it was unacceptable for unions to light fires during a rally.
Droit manifester est un droit fondamental mais il est inacceptable et irresponsable que les syndicats allument un feu pendant manifestation—
