Sooke RCMP are looking for the culprits responsible for a string of pellet gun attacks targeting transit buses.
No one has been injured, but police say it’s only a matter of time.
The buses have been targeted on separate occasions, all in the first week of the past three months.
The damage is similar to seven other buses hit last fall, that left marks roughly two inches in diameter, near the driver’s line of sight.
Repairs now total $12,000.
BC Transit now has a new protocol in place for drivers, in the event they’re hit.
They are required to pull over and place a call to their transit supervisor, who sends out a vehicle right away.
While all of the incidents have occurred along Sooke Road, there’s not clear pattern in terms of what routes, times, or even buses that are being targeted.
Drivers can only brace themselves, knowing their windshield could be next.
