EDMONTON – A child who was in a three-vehicle crash in Grande Prairie Tuesday morning has succumbed to his injuries.
The four-year-old passed away Thursday morning at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton.
The boy was one of four people taken to hospital after the vehicle he was in was hit on the Highway 43 by-pass between 102 and 100 Street in Grande Prairie. Another child in the vehicle and the driver were also injured.
RCMP are still investigating the crash. Initial reports suggest, though, that the vehicle they were in was one of two struck by another eastbound vehicle, which then crossed the westbound lanes before coming to rest on a grassy area.
The name of the boy who has died is not being released.
The condition of the three other individuals who were injured is not known.
