Toronto Morning: What you need to know today

TORONTO –  If you packed away your snow shovel and winter coat, you may need to haul them out again as winter delivers one more cruel blast across southern and eastern Ontario.

The warm air that recently enveloped the region is being pushed out by a sharp Arctic cold front accompanied by stiff northwesterly winds.

Environment Canada said temperatures would plunge to below freezing by the morning in some areas and during the day on Tuesday.

WEATHER

Rain showers changing to snow mixed with ice pellets and ending late this morning then a mix of sun and cloud with 40 percent chance of flurries. Risk of freezing rain early this morning. Snow and ice pellet amount 2 to 4 cm. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light this afternoon. Temperature falling to minus 1 this afternoon.
