MONTREAL – One of the most anticipated speakers of the year addressed a sold out crowd at the Palais des Congrès on Tuesday evening.
Probable U.S. presidential contender Hillary Clinton spoke for an hour before 4,300 people who paid between $50 and $300 each.
Leaders of Quebec’s three main provincial political parties, as well as the mayors of Montreal and Quebec City, attended.
As the Quebec premier entered the auditorium, she greeted with a mix of applause and boos.
The former Secretary of State and U.S. Senator talked about improving opportunities for women and minorities in business and politics.

She also spoke about the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and the U.S. response.

Clinton’s speaking fee in Montreal hasn’t been made public but it’s been widely reported that she charges sums in the $200,000 range.
Clinton is widely considered as the Democratic front runner in the 2016 presidential elections although she hasn’t declared her candidacy.
Clinton served as Secretary of State between 2009 and 2014 under President Barack Obama.
She was a strong defender of human rights and women’s rights considering them an integral part of U.S. security interests.
Clinton was also at the forefront during the “Arab Spring” uprisings throughout the Middle East, supporting some regimes while backing protesters in other places.

While Clinton hasn’t made any announcement toward a bid for for the White House but she has a large advantage over other Democratic contenders with her name recognition and vast political experience.
Unofficial supporters that have already raised more $4 million in donations according to TIME magazine.
