REGINA – Saskatchewan remains the place to be for small business owners.

According to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB), 72 per cent of Saskatchewan entrepreneurs are confident their provincial government has a vision to support entrepreneurship and small business.

Meanwhile, British Columbia is ranked second with 48 per cent, Alberta is ranked third with 40 per cent and Manitoba and Quebec are tied at fourth with eight per cent.

CFIB says the talk of potential tax hikes could jeopardize Saskatchewan’s number one ranking.

“We certainly hope this report is going to be reviewed by the government and we hope the common sense prevails and that there is no tax hike in the upcoming budget,” said Marilyn Braun-Pollon, CFIB vice president.

CFIB also says it’s intending to make this an annual report.
