WATCH: Project Winter Survival ramps up effort as extreme cold weather alert issued
TORONTO – The City of Toronto has issued an extreme cold weather alert, with an expected low of -18 degrees Celsius with wind chill poised to drop temperatures even more.
Winter weather continues in Toronto with blowing snow, a chance of afternoon flurries and an evening windchill dipping below -27 degrees Celsius.
Environment Canada says that blowing snow should end by Saturday afternoon, with a 30 per cent chance of flurries that would bring between 2-4 centimetres of snow.
A number of Ontario highways remain closed due to motor vehicle accidents and snow conditions.
