Firefighters in Port Coquitlam have their hands full this afternoon with a two-alarm house fire.

Crews were called out to a fire at Myrtle and Galer Way at about 3:30 this afternoon to find the house nearly fully involved.

Flames could be seen shooting through the roof.

Hydro arrived on scene to shut off the power and gas.

Neighbours say the house was undergoing renovations and the owners were living in the house while the work was being done.

No one was home at the time.

Luckily, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt, but the house was destroyed.

Due to the extent of the damage it may be hard to determine the exact cause.
