Saskatchewan man sentenced for child sex crime, pornography offences. File / Global News

SASKATOON – A Saskatchewan man has been sentenced to four years in prison for child pornography offences.

Bradley Raymond Chanin, who is 50, hung his head as he learned his fate on Monday.

Chanin pleaded guilty to charges of sexual interference, making child pornography, and possession of child pornography on Nov. 27.

His crimes are believed to have occurred between March 2006 and March 2009 when he was living in Doha, Qatar.

Though his crimes happened half a world away, a special provision in the Canadian Criminal Code allowed Chanin to be prosecuted in Saskatoon with the consent of the Attorney General of Canada.

The police investigation began after a friend helping him move to the Biggar area in August 2012 found an envelope full of explicit pictures of young girls.
