Sport: Short Track Speed Skating

Age: 29

Hometown: Lachenaie, Que.

Accomplishments:

2010 5000-metre Relay Olympic Champion.

2012 500-metre World Champion.

Interesting Fact: Jean was the target of sabotage at the 2011 World Team Championships when American skater Simon Cho intentionally tampered with one of Jean’s skates. Cho later said his coach told him to do it and offered Jean a personal apology.

Chances: Along with Charles Hamelin, Jean is one of the leaders of the defending champion Canadian men’s 5000-metre relay team. He will have a good chance to medal in that event, while also a contender in his preferred individual event, the 500-metre.
