Masha Amini: Winnipeg’s Iranian community protests death of woman detained by ‘morality’ police

Members of Winnipeg's Iranian community gathered at the Manitoba Legislative Building on Wednesday evening to protest the death of an Iranian woman that died in the custody of police. Last week, 22-year-old Masha Amini was arrested by 'morality police' for "unsuitable attire" after allegedly wearing the hijab improperly. She died after falling into a coma during her detention. Protest organizers called for action from politicians that "do not embolden the policies of Iran's regime."
