Burning material tumbles off cargo ship off coast of British Columbia
Description
October 24, 2021
Video obtained by Reuters on Saturday showed fire cascading down from the deck of a container ship anchored near Victoria, B.C., and into the water, hours after a raging blaze broke out on containers on the vessel. The Canadian Coast Guard said it is working with the U.S. Coast Guard to assess the situation, including any potential environmental hazards. Sixteen crew members have been evacuated from the MV Zim Kingston, while five remained on board to fight the fire, the Canadian Coast Guard said in a statement late on Saturday.
