Officials from the city of St. Catharines say emergency crews were called out to a blaze at the old Welland House Hotel on Ontario Street at King Street around 5:30 a.m. on Monday July 12, 2021. The vacant building was in the process of being designated as a heritage site to prevent future demolition.
