Following a day of violent, pro-Donald Trump demonstrations on Wednesday, where some protesters stormed Washington D.C.’s Capitol buildings, U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence condemned the riot that left one dead, calling it a “dark day.” Pence thanked law enforcement for quelling the violence and securing the Capitol again.
