Researchers observe Red Sea octopuses ‘punching’ fish that compete for food

New research reveals that octopuses in the Red Sea have developed a so-called “control mechanism” for dealing with fish that compete for their food. Marine biologist Eduardo Sampaio from the University of Lisbon in Portugal captured video along with his team showing several cases of octopuses “punching” to drive off various species of fish on the Red Sea floor.
