The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), which helped millions of Canadians make ends meet during the pandemic, is set to end in September. But now, the federal NDP wants the benefit to become a permanent fixture, in the form of guaranteed basic income. Mike Le Couteur explains whether or not that can become reality.
