Canadian Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Monday that the federal government was taking a “cautious view” on any possible reopening of the U.S.-Canada border, which was closed to all non-essential travellers on midnight March 21 of this year in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, and that there is daily, “even hourly” monitoring of the border situation.
