NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh said on Saturday that his party has negotiated with the federal government over the language of the unanimous consent for the wage subsidy bill, working towards closing gaps in the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) to help some groups that currently cannot apply. Singh said this includes groups that may earn a small amount of money, but not enough to get by, and that the CERB would assist. But he said he wants Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to just say “if you need help, apply” and eliminate any requirements to access it.
