Port Hope police will be stepping up their night patrols until the end of next month to protect the Ganaraska River.
Port Hope’s nighttime fishing ban along the river came into effect last week. The bylaw – which applies to the area between the Molson and Robertson street bridges -prohibits fishing from 8 p.m to 6 a.m.
