French president Emmanuel Macron will give the country’s highest honour – the Légion d’Honneur – to its victorious FIFA World Cup team. “Les Bleus” won the title 20 years after another multi-ethnic French squad won the country’s first cup. Many hoped the 1998 win would ease racial tensions in France. As Redmond Shannon reports, in some respects little has changed.
