Independent report into 2024 water main rupture in Calgary released

January 7, 2026
As repair work continues on last week’s rupture of the Bearspaw Feeder Main, Calgarians are getting their first look at an independent report examining the failure of the same pipe in June 2024.
City council will also be discussing the report at a special meeting on Wednesday afternoon. Global Calgary’s Michael King tells us about some of the highlights of the report.
