At a press conference on Monday, British Columbia Premier David Eby says the province will no longer proceed with anti-tariff ads aimed at American audiences, following backlash to a similar Ontario campaign.
Eby says the decision reflects a new, coordinated approach with Ottawa on softwood lumber strategy as Canada-US trade talks remain stalled. “We’ll ensure our communications are in line with the federal government,” he said, adding that both levels of government will work together to support forestry workers and communities affected by the dispute.
