Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has called for both Israel and Russia to be banned from international competitions amid the countries’ respective wars in Gaza and Ukraine. “Until the barbaric acts end, neither Russia nor Israel should participate in any more international competition,” Sanchez said Monday, just one day after violent protests erupted in Madrid and put a swift end to the final leg of the Vuelta a Espana cycling race.
