Canada’s Atlantic Lobster faces grave danger as China’s tariffs take effect

Chinese tariffs on Canadian goods took effect Thursday, targeting one of Canada’s most lucrative exports – seafood. With the United States, China accounts for over 80 per cent of all Canadian seafood exports, an industry worth nearly eight billion dollars in 2023. The impact is expected to be significant, with the Atlantic Lobster, which comprises the largest portion of the export market, suffering the most. Heidi Petracek has the story.
