NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh called Thursday for tougher punishments for price gouging after it was reported Loblaw had agreed to pay $500 million to settle a class-action lawsuit regarding their bread price-fixing scandal. Singh said it was “ridiculous” that consumers “had to fight in court to get justice.”
