Pro-Palestinian protesters have set up an encampment at Victoria Square in downtown Montreal. The encampment is near the offices of the CDPQ, one of Canada’s largest pension fund managers, and Quebec’s ministry of international relations, which has recently opened an office in Tel Aviv. Activists say they are demanding the CDPQ divest from companies they say are “complicit in the Israeli occupation” in Gaza. They are also calling on the ministry to shut down their operations in the region.
