Bank of Canada Governor Tiff Macklem said Wednesday that interest rates “may” be high enough to bring inflation back to the bank’s two per cent target but said that the central bank was still assessing the situation. He said it would be time to discuss lowering interest rates when “we see a clear trend that we’re clearly going back to two (per cent).”
