Environment Canada called for damaging winds of up to 90 kilometres an hour and issued warnings for the Southern Gulf Islands and east Vancouver island.

A Tsawwassen home was heavily damaged by fire that sent a plume of smoke high into the air, visible from the nearby ferry terminal early Sunday evening.
