The province is allowing snowplows, tow trucks and highway maintenance and other roadside operators to continue using flashing blue and amber lights for the next five years.

Alberta Transportation has put the brakes on changes that were set to begin March 1, that would have seen more lanes of traffic slow to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles.
