An OPP spokesperson says officers were called with reports of a collision and since the man was fatally hit by the truck as they were responding, Ontario's police watchdog was notified about the incident.

Toronto police said they were called to the area of Lawrence Avenue and The Bridle Path at 2:45 p.m. for a shooting.
