A driver was taken into custody for seven offences on Thursday morning after a suspect attempted to flee a routine traffic stop in Niagara Region.

Niagara Regional Police say the victim had to be airlifted to an out-of-town trauma centre after an altercation in the city's east side Tuesday morning.
